"And though she be but little, she is fierce."- Shakespeare

To give when I have given up

Live when I have lived enough

Love with a love that won't give up

To show when no-one else shows up

Touch you when you are out of touch

Love cuz my love will be enough

Til the end, my friend

You'll always be a part of me

The farther off the map you go

My love will find your soul

And bring you home

But looking for you through the lights of the city

I lost myself in your eyes, in your smile

I lost myself in you

And still determined to...

Give when I have given up

Live when I have lived enough

Love with a love that won't give up

To show when no-one else shows up

Touch you when you are out of touch

Love cuz my love will be enough

So I found you and I can't let go

I found you and now I can't

Find home

I gave, but now I'm giving up

Lived, but now I've lived enough

I love you, but love is not enough

You showed me that you are not the one

Touched me, but now I'm out of touch

Lost now you threw away my love

Lost now in the dark and can't find home

The author's comments:

This is a song I wrote when I was trying to reach out to a guy who was close to me and I could see hurting. I believed that love could save us, but then I learned that love really had no power and now we're both lost in the dark and can't find home.

Hey, do you think I should submit this again under song lyrics?

Thank you for your comment! It really means a lot to me. I thought I had placed this under song lyrics, but I guess not. Oops!

Wow. I adore this. It's beautifully poetic, and the progression of the song is completely gorgeous. Your sincerity sparkles through the lyrics. The "chorus" is both well-written in terms of rhythm to begin with and also very cleverly twisted to match the final message of the song in the end. The only thing worth pointing out here is that there is a song lyrics category when you submit poetry. :) Seriously, though, gorgeous. I'd love to hear this sung one day.
