Fleeting Butterflies
She knelt and kissed the soft petals of earth,
the flowers bloomed into sweet butterflies;
wings, dripping rainbows of tumbling mirth,
colors flashing, but it is just a guise.
They swarmed her life for barely an instant,
but left and everything became blank…
only grey, the vibrant color distant.
She weeps, for the world has been a cruel prank.
The world is fleeting and not permanent,
she is one who tried to make it constant.
