The Trap by John Smelcer
A breath taking, nail biting novel about a grandpa and the struggle to survive being trapped, unable to escape his own trap, while trying to withstand the harsh winter weather in Alaska and the dangers of wildlife.
Trust me when I found out an idea of what this book was about a guy trapped in his own trap, unable to escape his own trap. I honestly wasn't interested in this book at all but as John Smelcer jumps into the action and struggle within the first chapter. Any book that does that to me always grabs my attention at a surprise.
This book in my opinion had some down time as it jumped from grandpa to his family and back. But who knows maybe you will realize that you love this style of john Smelcer's writing, on survival.
