Are you interested in suspense, horror, and emotion all at once? Natasha Preston is the author to look for when seeking these types of genres in books to read. She is from England and she is 36 years old. She has been publishing books since she was 22 and has not stopped since. Overall, she has published over 23 books and there are a select few that follow a genre of horror. Due to her young age, these several books cater to young teenagers' interests and her books are normally read in high school and college. In her stories she acknowledges different situations and circumstances that many teenagers face which makes young people more inclined to read her books.

“You Will Be Mine” is one of the books that Natasha Preston has published that follow a horror genre. This book follows a university student named Lylah and a group of her friends and their experiences with a terrorized anonymous source that is following them up until Valentine's day. This was the first book I read by Natasha Preston and it had me hooked. Although I enjoyed this book thoroughly, the ending was a cliff-hanger and I was excited to find the next book to this series, but was disappointed to find out that Natasha Preston does not make sequels to her books. This is the one critique I have on Preston’s books, other than this, I enjoyed this book.

“The Cellar” is another horror book by Natasha Preston. It tells the dark story of a young sixteen year old girl, Summer Robinson, who is abducted and held captive for six consecutive months. While she is held captive, she meets other potential allies along the way to hopefully help her out of trouble. This book also ends in a cliffhanger, which is again, my only critique of the book.  Something to watch out for is the implied adult themes in this book but they are not explicitly mentioned.

“The Fear” is a book following the story of a high school girl Izzy, who is uninterested in anything social. One day, someone posts a meme online asking people to share their biggest fear: the scariest way to die. When people start disappearing, many start to make the connection between their cause of death, and the social media post. There is betrayal and loss in this story and it is heavily suspenseful throughout the entire book. This is the worst one to not have a sequel in my opinion. The end is the point of the book that I was waiting for to finally give me answers to unsolved questions throughout the entire story, but then I found out again that there is no sequel. So, to anyone reading this book, do not expect to have all of your questions answered neatly.

Natasha Preston is a great writer overall and her books are definitely worth your time. She engages many thinking skills throughout her theme of mystery. One of the greatest reasons why I enjoyed her books so much is because you can not tell who the antagonist of the story is. Preston makes these mysteries extremely hard to see through and figure out which is the best part of all of her books.

The author's comments:

I hope that people get the opportunity to read Natasha Preston's books as they are extremely enjoyable. I got inspired to write this piece because of my English teacher and the fact that I want people to discover Natasha Preston's books.
