Oblivion
Rotten is thy apple, the life I held dear,
But looking back is harder than saying goodbye.
It seems I have wasted many a long year
The past is inalterable, none can deny.
I wonder what the world has accomplished beyond my walls
I would join the masses if I were not so abiding
I would surely laugh if the sensation ever calls
Paradise isn't lost, it's just hiding
Peace has not followed my decisions and choices before.
But this matters not; I wash my hands of my past
My appearance is mirrored in the shock of your stare forevermore
I hear the wind whispering my name at long last
Vultures are waiting for what’s left of me
The lobotomist arrives to set me free
