The Royal Bee
I stepped and landed on a royal bee,
And it was crushed in a blink of an eye.
The fact that I killed it made me feel glee,
But if I had empathy would I cry?
Her body lay there, twitching violently.
More bees stood there, their sorrow unspoken.
They all stood next to her, so silently,
They surrounded her, they were heartbroken.
The mourning bees made me feel so depressed.
Their leader was dead from my negligence.
A tear rolled down my face; was I possessed?
Would they even survive in her absence?
I've been wishing that the bee would have fled,
Because I can't get her out of my head.
