i am hollow

I am hollow
I am released of all burden
into nothingness
I am a whisper
vast emptiness
Aching for what has been lost and
Longing for what will never be again
yet suddenly
The clashing mix of now versus then
in the final tick of a clock.
The world I lived in to a great relief
The past and present overlap
before my eyes
Life and death
Love and its unblinking absence
Powerless, I am sinking
Against the waves
Knowing not
what lies beyond
the enclosures of this life.
I am forgetting
how it felt
to be human.
