An Observation This Winter Morning
May 18, 2016
The snow sticks
to my plastic yellow car
and the roads
and the cracked sidewalk
and the unevenly-mowed front lawn
and the shrubs
and the brittle driveway
and my puffy purple jacket
and the gurgling curb
and the future
and my eyelashes
and the walls of my heart.
The snow sticks
to everything except
you.
