Young Love
I wished for you to love me like the wind blew. Softly and quietly. Unnoticed but always there. The trees grew taller and birds sang with the sound of my heart being the tempo and our shared glances being the words. On days when rain poured flowers would still bloom into the souls of my irises giving them life and colour. I held onto the sunsets that stained our cheeks and brought tears to our eyes as long cold days ended and warm evenings began with how was your day and ended with goodnight. Goodnight sweet dreams. I hope the stars have locked themselves behind combination doors within your head so you can hold on to this evening until one like or just a bit better comes along. Goodnight to the hopes for love and the shadows that cast along my feet for they have disappeared into the nights ocean with rays of sun and budding roses. The world at night is forced to stay awake while we dream.
