Thank You Note
Dear kindergarten girl I knew and love,
Thank you for being my best friend from the first day we embarked into the world (if only fate had embraced us together). Thank you for showing me the path into this paved world (though I think you showed me a dirt road).
Dear ex-friend,
Thank you for being there for several years of my life (even though you bought the next mass-produced thing you could get your hands on). Thank you for telling me that being me was okay (even though the other kids probably laughed at me when I was running around the playground instead of sitting on the equipment).
Dear ex-best friend,
Thank you for inviting me to your slumber parties (even though you invited the same people who were laughing at me earlier that day). Thank you for letting them (because I learned a little something about who I wanted to be).
