"My intensities, are the keys to my sanity."
-McCailyn Lowry

When I lay a head upon the feathers, the best part of the inside awakens.
Its starts with the emotions being mixed in a witches brew.
Sad from the swamps ruins.
Then glee from Santa’s lap.
Before I know it,
The laughing gas takes over and nothingness becomes everything.

For different people, colors are different,
Especially in the nothingness

As a seed I spot bright warm colors to wake me with open eyes.
Creatures overwhelm me to a new world.
But then
Crocs, and monsters only from Halloween arrive,
Greeting me with open arms.

I sprout green leaves and say hello to the feathered comfort once again.
Nothingness wraps me up like a blanket.
LOSER
“And she falls to the ground”
“And she plays the wrong note”
But then
GOAL
“And she wins the game”
“And she impresses the composer”

Blooming new petals I sweep up into the worn down laying spot.
He has left me.
They all marched away like ants.
I am alone with not even one little seed left for me to grow,
And must carry all of the empty planets upon my sore shoulders.
But then
I gather soft skinned hopes into my arms.
Kiss them gently and say,
Welcome.

When I lay a head upon the feathers, the best part of the inside awakens.
Its starts with the emotions being mixed in a witches brew.
Sad from the swamps ruins;
Then glee from Santa’s lap.
Before I know it,
The laughing gas takes over and nothingness becomes everything.

I am wrinkling, but still happy.
I close my lids waiting for something to happen.
They are flying off in their magical carriages
Waving with glittery wands outside the window.
Pearly white smiles thanking me for life.
And I know
My colors are fading
My creatures, trophy’s, and pets have left.
And I know
I can now lay my head upon the feathers and nothingness will be forever.

The author's comments:

I was inspired from "Let Your Imagination Fly" so when I was asked to write about this topic I instantly pondered dreaming. This poem is about my dreams, and how they changes according to my age at that time. It startes at a childs perspective, the to a teen, adult, and fiannly an elder which sleeps forever(death)but happily.
