Favorite Quote:
To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

Curled like the tendrils of a vine,
my tears curl inside my ears
and they whisper to me
of what my heart has to say
at that very moment
as they weave themselves
into strands of my hair;
braiding memories
of what was and what is.

My hair dampened from the hurt
and the confusion inside,
and I surprised
as I feel my dampened,
curled hair around my ears
from the tears that have slipped
from my eyes to my neck;
twining to pearls of tears
at that moment,

instead of the pearls of joy
that God has given to me.

After I finished writing this poem, I remembered a verse in Isaiah about having victory; and this is the verse that came to me as I finished my poem, Isaiah 12:2: "See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory."

In one part of my poem, I wrote 'the hurt and the confusion inside.' Reading that verses, Isaiah 12:2 - it comforted me and it relieved me, knowing that I have victory despite the confusion and sadness and hurt inside and around me.

And the pearls of joy that God gave me, they're still there. At that moment when I was crying, they were pearls of tears but the pearls that God gave me never disappeared. They're still with me and they always will be.

And you have pearls of joy too. You have joy too. You have victory too.
