Only Child
Don't screw up, you're the only child,
all eyes are trained on you.
One mistake lasts a lifetime,
one achievement lasts a minute.
You're supposed to always be smiling;
afterall, it's just you.
But people fail to mention that loneliness hurts,
sometimes more than a hit from your sibling.
Yet you have nothing to complain about, right?
You are an only child, the world at your fingertips.
But is that worth people always expecting you to be mature
and ready to help?
They seem to forget that you're still a child
with a right to having a childhood.
Yet in the end, you just have to suck it up and march on.
Because you're an only child
and that's what you're supposed to do.
