Where Do I Belong?
I belong to
two diverse cultures
whom I explore
along with my
inner soul.
I belong to
that one right song
which takes the pain
and leaves its
melodic tunes behind
I belong to
a family who are friends
and friends
who are family.
I belong to
the loss of my brother
haunting my nights
deepening the
never closed wounds.
I belong to
the nights
lit up with stars,
laughter echoing in my ears,
and balconies occupied by
who I love the most.
I belong to
the roots of my home,
buds of my country,
and flowers of this world.
I belong to
the values and sayings
keeping me steady
in this vast
world of unknowns.
I belong to
the fear of heights,
pleasure from a racing heart
and eagerness of what comes next.
I belong to
tears and smiles
birthdays and funerals.
To loss and triumph,
remorse and serenity.
I belong to
the journey of
figuring myself out,
overcoming obstacles,
bearing the pain life gives,
and living in the moment.
