The Fight
Do you know how hard it is to fight and claw and dig for someone?
To reach inside and try to find the best in an individual?
All I do is fight and claw and dig.
But my muscles are too weak,
my nails too short,
and your exterior too rough.
Do you know how hard it is to love someone with such a rough exterior?
I fight and claw and dig but you refuse to love me back, to show any sort of compassion.
So I rest my muscles,
cut my nails down short,
and leave your rough exterior.
