Escaping Death
Breathing in a deep breath smelling a musty scent
Feeling an eerie wind pick up in the air
The end is near yet so unfair unjust
My life flashing before my eyes
I didn't spend my life like it should have been spent
And now I'm left with many useless regrets
In these last moments I have to say
I love you to all that at close I must I must
Looking for a way out feeling closed in
Each breath comes harder as I begin to tire
Will I ever find a way out
How much longer? Everything begins to slow
My fight leaving me
Now my dreams are stripped from me all that I aspire
And suddenly I realize
I finally understand what I've always known and this I know
Even as I take my final stuttering breath
That you can never ever escape death
