"Love is Lost in Paradise"

I watched as it approached
I couldn’t move as it reached me
Not a bone in my body

I laid there in terror
My body in some sort of trance
Limp in every way possible

It climbed atop of my unresponsive body
It looked me in the eye
It told me everything I didn’t want to hear

Tears began to escape my eyes
Was this my body final responding?
But still every inch of me was limp

Its like my body was fighting against me
A full civil war within me
I wanted to fight back

The more it entered me
The darker it became
The clearer it all seemed

Why was this happening?
What did I do to deserver such punishment
It was consuming me whole

The attack was near its end
I felt nothing anymore
Complete numbness

Everything was going from just darkness
To complete and utter
Blackness

This was my death sentence
I its prisoner
It the hanging rope

The author's comments:
Its more up to interpretation
but while i wrote it i had the image that the "it" that is repeatedly mentioned is cancer and this is how someone may look at it as (not that i would honestly know)
id like to hear how you read it, and what you thought of!
Enjoy
