A Volcano

Rich brown loam,
Earth worth farming,
Plants grow
Luscious clusters of fruit.

Calm workers
Hoe their hot sweat
Into the ground,
Blessing it with tears of hard work.

A plane drones on overhead.
5 tons of steel slicing the sky,
Disappearing behind the cotton ball clouds
Filling the air with a resonant hum

Then

The ground rumbles
The world shakes, shatters, shears
Itself
Into hard, hot, heavy pieces.

The mountains erupts
Spewing out
Raining rocks, a roiling rapid
Of lava.

This
Is
A
Vocano

I used to like volcanoes...USED TO. XD They can be pretty scary. It's on the news all the time isn't it? Some random volcano that was supposed to be "dead" comes to life and BOOM! everybody dies :( Ah, well. It's a force of nature and I respect it. But they are pretty cool. Brilliant work!
