On the Third Floor

Haunting factory smells
fill the third floor.

Rusty stenches
stain clothes.

Light's absence
causes desolation

fooling you:
are you underground?

Then water droplets ring
like a metronome,

dripping endlessly-
or endless echoes of a single drop?
