Deep Sleep
I tried to match the pace of your breathing;
you'd already fallen asleep
on the phone, our late night calls-
exhale softly, breath in deep.
Rhythmic breaths served as music
guiding my thoughts up and out
of the stress and the pain of today;
inhale faith, exhale doubt.
As I drifted asleep to our sweet sounds
in unison, but far apart,
I knew that love isn't found in your hands
it's found in your heart.
