The River
Running
Not the kind of running that happens when you are trying to get away
not the kind of running you do for exercise
and not the running you do to get somewhere
just running
That is what I am seeing now
some are running down
some up
some are struggling
some are not
some hit obstacles but they are only moved in a different direction
or they start to run backwards
yet eventually everything moves forward
Everyone moves downstream with the current
following the path that was meant for them
we may pick up dirt
or run into things
or tear things apart
or maybe even hurt something or someone
but we always move forward
always move downstream
as time goes on so do we
even if we don't acknowledge time is there
we always move with the river
