leaves yanked from their branches by
vicious wind
tumble through the air
confused
drunk
color is leaving
soon only
faded brown
and bright white
will be
others celebrate their remaining color
yellow, orange, red
they dance in the wind
glad to be free
the wind has carried them to sleep
on a carpet of green
they are crunched under feet
and swept together again
