Pale slender hands reach out
Carefully grasp a picture
Worn edges, curling in
Well known faces, much younger than today's
Pearly white smiles
Hopeful blue eyes
Shiny soft hair
Back in a time when the worries of the world
Hadn't yet plagued them.
Back when dreams shone like stars in the sky
Hopes and wishes propelled their world
A time before the world handed them pain
Suffering
Heartache
Anguish
Anger
Sadness
A mirror of who they once were
A time where everything was so much more simple
