Nostalgia
The sirens sound throughout the streets
A wide smile spreads across my face
Nostalgia hits me
The noise echoes in my room
A flash of red and blue rushes
Outside my window
My mind is on a trip and,
I'm home
The stench of smog
makes me think about the city
Cars cruising,
And the sound of horns, bells, and whistles
Makes me smile
I take in the scene,
Scent, sound, and sight
The hum of the city is a ballad
I long for it
Reality sinks in, and I'm back in my room
The city is a memory to me,
And nothing more.
