My eyes red and puffy; stinging
Cheeks stained with dead waterfalls
An agonizing hole in my heart

Camaflouged into the darkness
Distanced from sound and sight
I solemnly stare at my cell phone

A blank screen gawks back at me
Anxious fingers kip swiftly over the keepad,
Its light illuminating the cruel night

Beep...Beep...Beep

Perplexed by my random decision
I miss you tedious greeting
Forcing you to say once more

"Hello?"
A thousand words caught in my throat
Cowardly tears overwhelm me once more

"Nevermind."
I angrily punch at the end button
And sob into my aging hands
