Then and Now
When I was younger, I
could mess up or make mistakes,
and it would be more easily forgiven,
was ego-centric,
and thought that the whole world revolved around me,
would give up if something didn't go my way, and that would be the end of it,
was entirely dependent upon my parents, and had everything done for me,
was accustomed to having my mom there with me, wherever I happened to be,
When I was younger, I believed that it was a big world, full of strange new things and people.
Now that I am older, I
am accountable, and consider the consequences of my actions,
am empathetic, and try to view life from the perspective of others,
am more capable of overcoming adversity, and am able to persevere,
have become more responsible, and handle numerous aspects of my life of my own accord,
am more independent, and take on new challenges autonomously,
Now that I am older, I believe that the world is smaller than perceived, and we should absorb and embrace every facet of it.
