At the back of my mind
Telling me the secrets
That I do not want to know
About other people
Whispered lies
Behind my back
Telling my secrets
That others will use
For their own purposes
Whispers in the wind
Chasing me down
Trying to cause my death
Blowing my breath away
With the lies it tells
Whispers in the waves
Pulling me in
Trying to drown me
Filling my lungs
With untruths
Whispers in the fire
Tongues of flame
Licking my body
Consuming me
With gossip
