The things that I meant to say
To whom can I ventilate?
Who else do I got since that very day you went away?
The joy that I used to have
I'll never regenerate
No one in this would
Could be brave enough to take your place
Who do I have to look to?
You're not here to demonstrate
You're not here to dry my tears
So I use my pillowcase
You used to hold my secrets
Now I just give em away
I know you're never coming back
But yet it still kills me to wait
For that day, when once again
I will get to see your face
You may not watch me graduate
Or cheer as I walk across the stage
But you'll be here in my heart
Every hour, night and day
I know it's better on that side
But that only delays the pain
I still can't believe that from this world
You've up and gone away
But I know it's real when I see your name there on that grave
And see your picture on that Sunday funeral service pamphlet page
And go into your empty room
And your presence is gone without a trace
But I'm never gonna let you go
'Cause it's words you said before that I remember
and help to keep me sane
