Can you look me in the eyes and tell me truthfully that you are my real friend?
Do you know what a best friend even consists of?
Laughter, happiness, and joy.
Tell me you know these terms,
And if you say yes…prove it.

How can you stand in front of my face and say you know me like the back of your hand,
When you know more about random strangers on Facebook or Skype?
We have been together since the start of our middle school adventures,
But those adventures are no more then a childish game to you.
You’ve abandoned me…I am lost.

How can you say that we have had so many great, memorable times,
When I can’t even name one?
I’m never a part of your clique, the people who you badmouth when they’re not around.
The gates have closed upon me and you’ve left me behind like a stray puppy.
I never go places with you or those other people I call ‘friends’ …tell me why.

How can you promise to change in an email or a text,
When in person I am invisible to you?
You think of me as a wondering soul in a graveyard,
Or as a wannabe angel with crippled wings who you are too good for.
If you have ever heard of friendship…then show me what it means.

Once this year is over you’ll forget about me like an old doll lying under your bed.
I never want to remember you again.
I’d show the diary with tearstained pages where I would confess my feelings in silence,
And sob even more when you laugh and strut past me, not even caring.
The friendship you claim we had is merely dust in the wind.

For its one, two, three strikes and you’re out…
Too many torn hearts…and I despise you.
