The water
trickles over my
knees as I
dip my head to the
water, the
river's
rushing
waves
pulsing against my
mouth as they
slither
down my
throat.
The waters
fill my
hands, cover my
face,
until my
thirst has been
drowned, the
heat of the day
cooled, and my
journey
begins
again.

Change the word "Drowned" to "Quenched". It's driving me nuts! And I wrote the poem in the first place!

I like it. It's simple. It connected two of our most basic needs.
