Kissing Little Flowers
August 1, 2010
As you lied there in the field,
kissing little flowers,
the ocean wind stopped by
and unwound the loose braids
you had tied in your hair.
The sun darkened your skin
but you didn’t care as you lied there,
kissing little flowers.
The grass made a mold around you body
and the ocean wind caressed your skirt
and unwound the braids in your hair
but you didn’t care.
The clouds drifted over your body
and made patterns on your eyes
as you watched the blue of the sky fade
into the pale purple of the summer
as you lied there, kissing little flowers.
And the ocean wind brushed past the lavender
to match the sky and to take your mind away to
where you made patterns on the clouds.
