colored pencils in water fountains
slowly bleeding to death
fragments & shards
of clay and chalk
and all the other debris
floating and bobbing in the endless sea
of metallic but sweet aftertastes
lingering in lazy whirlpools
just waiting to circle the drain.

The author's comments:
I saw a yellow colored pencil, broken in half, sitting in a water fountain in the hallway today, and it inspired this short, nonsensical poem.

An incredible poem to take from such little inspiration. I admire this ability of yours, to make a lot out of a little. I greatly enjoyed reading your tasteful words.
