"I am my own muse. The subject I know best. The subject I want to know better." -Frida Kahlo

It has been a thousand years

since the world has evolved

A thousand years since there was

a sun and a moon

The sun was the brightest from a mile away

her light rays shining on the people

her warmth giving people

a sense of home

But for a thousand years

the sun has never met the moon

The moon was lonely all his life

missing a piece of him

his light is never appreciated

He was cold and nothing more

And for a thousand years

the moon has never met the sun

One day the sun rises

he catches a glimpse of light in the air

He catches a glimpse of her

her presence enough to make him feel warm

as she faded away never to be seen again

Though they never met he falls in love

They can never be together

they can only meet at dawn and dusk

The simplest touches are enough

But he still dies every night he is not with her

It is has been a thousand years

since the original forbidden love

This was inspired from a painting I saw.
