Shattered
Life pushes you in every direction,
Jostling you all about.
The pressure shoving you down.
Barely have a chance to breathe.
You near the breaking point,
All alone.
The pressure gets stronger still,
Suddenly you snap.
Feeling nothing inside.
Completely shattered.
No one notices.
You’ve torn yourself apart,
Forgetting everything positive about life.
Your mind is blinded from the pain,
You don’t know how to get through it.
Maybe you don’t want to.
Darkness consumes you.
***
From the abyss of despair comes a light,
A light so bright that it shines through the
seemingly endless layers of pain.
The light stitches your shattered pieces back together,
Slowly you start to feel again.
The light believes in you,
And that’s enough to keep you here.
The light inside you grows stronger everyday.
You will not be shattered again.
