Listen
Please take a minute
To hear what I have to say
I have so much to tell you
I need you to listen to what I say today
You probably don’t care anymore
You’ve probably moved on
But please just give me some time
To explain what’s happened since you’ve been gone
I loved you more than you could imagine
You were my everything and more
But when you left my house that day
You left me and my heart on the floor
I’m somehow still not over it
Even though several months have passed
I’ve learned to deal with the pain
And leave that mistake in the past
You probably want to know why you’re here
Why I asked you to listen
I just wanted you to know
I forgive you for what you did
I forgive you for hurting me
For making me feel worthless
Now I know better than that
And you still seem remorseless
I spent so long thinking it was my fault
Thinking that I had done something wrong
But I’ve learned it wasn’t about me
You just weren’t ready to love wholeheartedly
Thank you for listening this long
