I Miss You
Why won’t it leave?
This pain in my heart,
Is too much to bear,
Yet it’s been there from the start.
From the day we first met.
Til the second you left,
You took a piece of me with you.
You could call it a theft.
I wish I could go back,
Just to feel the way I did.
Like the anticipation for your reply,
And the many small smiles I always hid.
But you’re now far away,
And things will never be the same.
For I took having your attention seriously,
When for you it was only a game.
