The Impossible Game on X-Box, PS3, Android, Ipod
Prepare to get frustrated. This game has made many people scream and break their devices, according to youtube. The Impossible Game does, in fact make me and all the people I know rage, even if we beat the game and play it later on. On X-Box, where it originated, there are 4 levels; and on Android or Ipod, there are 5. All of the levels, beside the original, which is easier, are equally as hard.
The game has a simple point, but is unexpectedly, extremely hard. You are a small orange square trying to jump over spikes and on top of platforms. Sounds easy, right? Well, every time you die, you get sent back to the beginning. Spikes can come in ones, twos, threes, and fours (the four group only comes once though, and you get a platform to help you). The platforms to jump on are black squares, about 1.3 times your width. The platforms can also float, so if you fall off of them you die. It sounds easy but it is far from it.
The first level(s) and the last level have no tricks to them, but the other ones do. On the level called Chaos Fantasy, the beginning looks just like the first one. But after the first 20 seconds, the screen flips and makes you go upside down. Then on Heaven, the level dies out behind you and tries to trick you. Does Heaven sound hard enough? Well even if it does, the level switches and builds up about 3 inches in front of you, giving you little time to react. This got annoying to me.
Although the game is torture to complete, you are rewarded by the awesome music throughout the levels. The music is electronic/dance style and fits in perfectly with the jumps. The music alone is one reason to get the game and I don’t even like dance/electronic style music. Every jump that you make in Phazed (the 4th one), Heaven, and Chaos Fantasy are lined up perfectly to the beat of the songs. It really helps to have music and play instead of just muting it.
Completing the game is a challenge and takes time. So if you do not have a lot of time on your hands, this is not a game for you. But if you are tired of easy, worthless games, the Impossible Game is the perfect choice.
