Mind Gym by Gary Mack and David Casstevens
Book Review
Mind Gym
Gary Mack and David Casstevens
Mind Gym is about what we can do with our minds and how we approach life and how it affects us. This book is how our mental game can affect us more than our physical game, specifically related to sports. This book will teach you how to overcome challenges in life; such as adversity and failure. The book is geared for athletes but can be applied for anything in life or any challenges you might face. Many valuable life lessons can be learned like dealing with failure and how to stay positive even when times are tough. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars because I really like the lessons that I can take out of this book but it does get a little bit repetitive at times. It also has quotes from Yogi Berra, Alex Rodriguez, Bruce Jenner and many more. All of them have had times where they doubt themselves and things haven't worked out the way they wanted but they pushed through. My symbol for the book would be a brain because how we use our brain to our advantage is what the book is about. My favorite quote from this book is, “90 percent of the game is half mental.”
