Songza App

Songza is a custom radio app that you can get on most smartphones. It’s similar to Panda, an online radio, but gives you a little more wiggle room. When you first open up the app it gives you six different categories for you to pick from for the certain time of day. Let’s say it’s a Tuesday afternoon. You may come across these six options, working (with lyrics), popular genres, an energy boost, brand new music, a weekday dance party, and working (no lyrics). Of course, if you’re not feeling any of those options at all you can change the day of the week, time of day, or just find a new playlist in general. After you pick a certain category or genre of music you have three more options within that category. Just like Pandora, Songza will keep track of any music that you keep a “thumbs up” on. This way they can really find music, new and old, that may interest you. Songza does have a limit on how many times you can skip songs but what is even better is that Songza has no commercials. It only has pop-up ads which are a lot less annoying than having to listen to a commercial. On Songza you have the option to share with your Facebook friends or Twitter followers what kind of music you listen to or a specific song you would like to share. You can also purchase a song within the application. Each playlist has it’s own description of what it will play and other artist you may come across listening to this playlist. Songza will also tell you how many songs are within the playlist that you chose. The application will also share with you trending playlists amongst other Songza users as well as allow you to set an alarm clock. Songza will also allow you to pick a playlist by picking from activities, moods, decades, culture, and record-store clerk. Even though Songza is similar to Pandora in some ways, I’d pick Songza because of the vast variety of different music that they have.
