when we were kids
we pretended to cry to get mums attention
now we pretend to be sleeping when we cry to avoid quostions

We used to walk home every day
After school when the school bell rang
We had so much fun we used to play
Until the day I heard the big loud bang

I didn't even realize you were in a hospital
How selfish am I
I didn't know, I'm sorry, I'm accidental
And then I the goodbye in your eye

Remember when we played
cause I do
We messed with the maid
and put glue in her shoe

So today we honor a girl named Paige
Who passed at a young age

The author's comments:
My friend Paige passed away last year on 2/28/13. She had cancer, but she fought it to the very end. We all honor her by wearing orange on the day she passed.

“My heart always timidly hides itself behind my mind. I set out to bring down stars from the sky, then, for fear of ridicule, I stop and pick little flowers of eloquence.”
― Edmond Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac

This is so sweet! The poem is so fluid and graceful.
