"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is you-er than you" ~ Dr. Seuss

It’s too easy to hide away and cry
Left standing alone like you don’t matter,
To want to disappear and want to die
The clothes on your back left ripped and tattered.

Be still your mind, no strong thoughts or desires
The image you’ve made is not one of pride.
Your body a furnace, raging fire
The shadows lurking have tried and now hide.

But kind is mother, and loyal, father
To love you forever, promised in blood
For mercy, pray, alone at the alter
From your pollution grows a single bud.

Caged like an animal, and spit at again
Cry, cry, like a flower picked off the stem.

Regret, anger, and fear. This is what I hope to show. Someone fought (either metaphorically or physically) against something/someone with such rage, that now others are in fear of them. The hero is now the villain, who must now question who they want to be.
