Goodbye Darkness, Hello Light
On summer nights, the streets are dark coal
Except for the lamp post and luminous moon
Through the darkness you won’t see a single soul
The streets will be lighted soon
Winter brings the holiday spirit and cheer
Dark streets are illuminated, red and green
The lights will guide Santa and his deer
From high in the sky the streets are seen
Strands of lights decorate trees and roofs
Luminaries are path ways for Santa’s sleigh
And show the deer where to land their hooves
Christmas lights make a magnificent display
Goodbye darkness, hello light
The streets during Christmas are a glorious sight
