The moon lights the world brightly.
And the grass sways ever slightly;
And the night falls silent.

The night begins again.
The racket of nature; and not of men
At once, the cicadas harmonize

Regardless of the noise, I am alone.
Off in the distance-I hear a moan.
There are others like me.

Sleepless night and coming day,
I beg the passing rabbit to stay.
Besides me-in the misty dark

At dawn’s first break,
The earth’s creatures awake.
But some never slept.

These others thrive in the black sky,
And now that it’s gone-they say goodbye.
It’s the night creatures turn to rest now…
