My Routeless Nighttime Drive
Alone in my car - soft hum of the motor running,
An unplanned destination, I don't know who you are but I'm coming.
The moonlight kisses land gently on the windshield pane,
Track 1 fades to track 2, It's life, our mind we train.
The sun has long been asleep - I await yet, not a new day,
Midnight peace, I bow my head, humbly in the nights' cloak I lay.
Window cracked to invite your warm, sugary breath to linger over me,
It's the dead of the night and your sweet sighs that set me free.
I stop this car and on my knees I crawl your path,
You've hidden me well and warm, wet dew - my bath.
My tresses weighing this heavy head, sighing at your feet,
The earthen blankets in which you cover me- as your pure lullabies hymn me to sleep
