America thrives when at the front of
the camera; the lens sees only those
prideful, successful moments; just the pros
of society, the union and love
of American culture: baseball gloves,
and fireworks, and victory in war
for worldwide peace. Look how that eagle soars,
a patriotic advocate above.
But what happens when the photos don’t show
Uncle Sam at his best? He can distort
the truth, create a mirage that reports
misconceptions to the public. And though
the photos may be candid, it depends;
photographers choose where to point the lens.
