Fettered Minds
An infinite line marches for what seems like an infinite time.
Step out of line you're crazy you're lost.
There's no real chains, no real bars, just fettered minds.
Now, I'm not dwelling on the past, but I keep true to what they say:
admitting you have a problem is always the primary step.
We've been falling for ages, and I'm bracing myself.
That crash is just waiting to make a sound.
An infinite line marches for what seems like an infinite time.
Step out of line you're crazy you're lost.
There's no real chains, no real bars, just fettered minds.
I keep my hopes high in front of my eyes.
I keep my fears low at the back of my mind.
I'm waiting patiently for my time to shine.
When the time comes, I'll be working so hard to give this coffin wings to fly.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting it out.
Yeah, just waiting it out.
An infinite line marches for what seems like an infinite time.
Step out of line you're crazy you're lost.
There's no real chains, no real bars, just fettered minds.
Alea jacta est.
Now, there's no going back.
There's only looking forward, and once we're there there's no turning back.
This yoke's been handed down, I don't want to pass it on.
I want to stay intrepid until I can take it off my shoulders and throw it into the ground.
Not just off me, but everyone standing in line because there's no way in hell I'm letting them pass it on.
They're marching just to pass it on.
No, I'm not passing it on.
I'm not passing it on.
An infinite line marches for what seems like an infinite time.
Step out of line you're crazy you're lost.
There's no real chains, no real bars, just fettered minds.
I'm not even eighteen, but my feet already hurt.
These people are seniors, but they feel nothing at all.
I knew where I was going, but they don't know where they're marching.
I stepped out of line, but I'm not crazy, I'm not lost.
I may be kept here, but my mind is free.
An infinite line marches for what seems like an infinite time.
Step out of line you're crazy you're lost.
There's no real chains, no real bars, just fettered minds.
