Age of Tears
Boys with pretty eyes
Looking to a blue sky
Girls with broken smiles
Dreaming of their dream boy
In love with rock stars
But afraid of the dark and
Wanting to feel love
But we're all afraid to fall
Boys with blood shot eyes
Looking to horizons
Girls with big bright smiles
Overwhelming their crushes
Thirsting for something
Hearts racing with each step and
Knowing they'll crash but
Loving all the rush
An era of fights
A loss of time within the pools
Of uncertainty
Drifting through the nights of restlessness
And the feel of hale
Pelting your back the pleasures life could bring
That rocks the boat
Through a once gloomy age of tears
But with the sun
Comes the pain that you've been sheltered from
But now you want the terrifying feel of love
That painful respect for your mother
And each tear fallen
Makes a path to who you are
What you stand for
What makes you tick
What we are living for
Boys with piercing stares
No longer focused outward
Girls with softer smiles
A calmer storm within them
Dancing at midnight
Jumping all the fences
Talking for hours
And teasing your siblings
Boys with love struck eyes
Glued onto their girlfriends
Girls with inviting smiles
A welcoming demeanor
Boys become rock stars
And the fear of love is gone
Their drinking up life but
Knowing when to stop
An era of fights
A loss of time within the pools
Of uncertainty
Drifting through the nights of restlessness
And the feel of hale
Pelting your back the pleasures life could bring
That rock the boat
Through a once gloomy age of tears
But with the sun
Comes the pain that you've been sheltered from
But now you want the terrifying feel of love
That painful respect for your mother
And each tear fallen
Makes a path to who you are
What you stand for
What makes you tick?
What we are living for
