Locked Up
The sun shines on your face
As you smell the fresh dew dropped on the ground
You squint and smile
As you say hello to a familiar figure
It went by in a flash
But the memory is burned in your head
You remember the hurt and pain you were put through
Your recall the good times too
As a cloud blocks out the sun
A tear slides down your cheek
You taste the salt and know the past is behind you
You fight so hard
To forget what you closed the door on
You locked it up and hid the key
But the shadow came and opened you up
You feel the warmth on your face
You feel the grass on your toes
As the cloud passes away
the sun shines through
You’re blinded in a moment of pure bliss
The heat wraps around you
You covered in goodness
Don’t let it go to waste
You fight so hard
To forget what you closed the door on
You locked it up and hid the key
But the shadow came and opened you up
Reminded of being abandoned
You fell apart
When he left you
Couldn’t see his shinning eyes
To tell you it’s okay
Couldn’t see the smile
That maps out his face
You burned the pieces to save yourself
But that won’t help
You fight so hard
To forget what you closed the door on
You locked it up and hid the key
But the shadow came and opened you up
Cry one day
Its okay
Laugh the next
You made a mess
Time to stand up
Time to fix this
Time to grow up
Time to forgive
Move on with your life
Enjoy the days
The sun on your face
The rain on your lips
You can lock all up
Don’t lose the key
There’ll come a day
When things won’t be okay
You’ll need to recall
You’ll need to remember
But first of all
You need to heal
You fight so hard
To forget what you closed the door on
You locked it up and hid the key
But the shadow came and opened you up
