Grandma Limerick

October 20, 2008
By Anonymous

Grandma, with plastic on the recliner,
seems to be just getting blinder.
Though as meen as a witch,
she fell deep in a ditch.
And now no one can seem to find her.

This is fab. I love the juxtapose of using such a warm term of endearment and showing the dark reality simultaneously. Haven't read a lim this good since Revolting Rhymes!

I really liked your poem, and how it showed that not all grandmas are as nice as they may seem. When I read your poem, I found that it was a short limerick. Within the limerick, I found some similies such as, "Though as mean as a witch.”

I like that it's short, sweet, and to the point. Too often poets elongate a poem just because they think length is more. I'm here to tell you it's not. The amount of words in a poem neither increases nor decreases the value and meaning of the piece. I also like that this poem is comical but still had some depth to it. Well done author and I would be thrilled to see moreof your work. :]

I enjoyed reading this correct limerick because it showed that not all old people are nice like my grandma and i loved the rhyme scheme

this kind of reminds me of the song "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer" for some reason... i guess it's because old people do funny things... read some of mine?

Very funny. I liked it a lot. Imaginative. I like that a lot, too. I love the whole poem.
