Creation of color, intricate patterns revealing origin,
oranges and blues come together, feeling projected.

Beading winding around her head, puckered moccasins clothing her feet,
pounding on drums, shuffling feet - a promenade.

Steady rhythm keeping control of the gathering, a glimpse of family and strangers anew; similarities found, an insightful promise.

Parading meaningful flags, flying in the wake, like a soaring bald eagle -
a congregation of tradition, a passion pursuit.

Despite oppression, thriving together is all we know -
preserving friendships is what we need, a modern protest.

So, as we head to our revolving platform,
we uphold our stance as Americans, the Native People.
